Yes! The Initial Consultation serves multiple purposes. It helps clarify the scope and limitations of the assessment, sets clear expectations, and addresses any questions you may have. It also involves gathering essential information contributing to the overall assessment report.

Finally, this consultation allows us to review the screening questionnaires you completed in the Intake Form, ensuring that the most appropriate assessment is selected for your needs.

What is your availability, and do you have a waitlist?

Our current availability is 2 to 4 weeks.  If you are seeking an urgent assessment, book your session, and you will automatically join the waitlist and be contacted if we have a cancellation.

Question 3

Do I need to attend the Feedback Session or can I just get the Report?

Accepted Answer

The Feedback Session is included in the cost and is a crucial component of the assessment process.

Receiving a diagnosis—or not receiving the diagnosis you anticipated—can require time to process. This session provides an opportunity to understand the results, discuss your feelings, and explore the next steps.

Due to the importance of this discussion, a report will not be released without first completing a feedback session.

Do I need to follow-up with therapy following the assessment?

For some clients, confirming their neurotype can provide significant relief and validation. Understanding one's neurotype can offer clarity and a sense of self-acceptance, which may be sufficient for one's current needs.

Others might benefit from additional support to navigate any challenges or changes that come with this knowledge. Ultimately, the decision to pursue further therapy is a personal one, and there is no expectation that you book with myturn2talk Psychology.  If you are working with a psychologist, therapist or coach and want to pick up where you left off, we hope your assessment gives you the answers you need to continue to grow and thrive.

If I book an assessment and pay the fee, am I guaranteed to get the diagnosis I am looking for?

Booking an assessment and paying the fee does not guarantee receiving the diagnosis you seek. The purpose of the assessment is to provide an accurate and objective evaluation based on your unique symptoms, history, and current functioning. Our goal is to understand your neurotype and give an accurate diagnosis, if applicable.

The assessment process involves a thorough review of various factors, including clinical interviews, standardised tests, and screening questionnaires. The outcome is determined by the data collected and the professional judgment of the psychologist. It is important to approach the assessment with an open mind, as the results may provide insights that differ from your initial expectations but are essential for your overall understanding and well-being.
