Equine Therapy
At myturn2talk mindbodybalance, equine therapy is about learning to listen, not with the ears, but with the whole body. Horses communicate through energy, movement, and subtle cues. They don’t expect words, explanations, or eye contact, they simply respond to presence.

In a world that often demands verbal expression, performance, and constant self-explanation, time with horses offers something radically different — a space to connect without words, to be seen and felt just as you are.

After years of working in the psychological space — and living with my own experience of burnout — I realised that healing doesn’t always come through talking. Sometimes the nervous system needs to feel safe before it can think clearly.

Spending time with horses is a beautiful way to facilitate this. Horses live in the moment. They respond to honesty, calm, and authenticity — qualities that can feel hard to access when life feels overwhelming or when sensory and emotional signals are confusing or intense.

In the company of a horse, regulation happens naturally. Breath deepens, muscles soften, and awareness shifts from “thinking” to feeling. The horse doesn’t analyse or interpret — it mirrors what’s true, allowing quiet emotional clarity to emerge.

This makes equine therapy especially supportive for:
-
Neurodivergent adults who find words limiting or exhausting
-
Those seeking sensory grounding and nervous system balance
-
Individuals navigating burnout or emotional fatigue
-
Anyone wanting to reconnect with their body’s own rhythm
What to Expect
Time spent in calm, natural surroundings with one or more horses
Gentle, guided opportunities to observe, approach, and connect
No riding or performance — simply presence and awareness
A focus on safety, regulation, and sensory grounding
Each session unfolds naturally, depending on the comfort and energy of both you and the horses. You don’t need to do anything or get it right — this is a space where authenticity matters more than words.
